
Rural CS Initiative

• In FY25, over 3,300 students participated in modules in the first semester alone.
• Starting January 2025, 40 districts across the State, including 46 high schools, are participating members of the Rural CS Cohort
• Professional development offerings include Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture, Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, and Development in the Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
• 355 modules have been taught as of December 31, 2024

Goals
• Close the gap in computer science learning opportunities in rural high schools in Georgia
• Provide teacher professional development to build capacity at the local level
• Increase awareness of education and careeropportunities in computer science and otherSTEM fields
• Grow the STEM workforce pipeline to meeting the increasing demands for STEM jobs in Georgia
